Designed in 2018, the new 110,000 SQFT commercial office property in Columbus, Ohio was conceived as a gateway to the wildly-successful Easton Town Center’s newest expansion. Dubbed the Midtown Office Building, the the five-story structure serves as the new headquarters for M/I Homes, as well as a number of premium retailers at the ground floor.
The building was designed to seamlessly blend the classical motifs of the larger district while serving as a bridge to a more modern future. A black brick base, punctured by a series of deep rhythmic openings, plays foundation to a lighter framework of glass and aluminum above. The building’s overall form was eroded at the corners to provide each floor with private outdoor space.
